Old School Necrons (1998 versions)

The Necrons were the first 40K army I painted back in 1999-2000. It was the Necrons resemblance to the Terminators that caught my eye and I was off and running with my first units.

These units have seen the most battles of all of my 40K armies. With their devastating Gauss weapons and their ability to self-repair, they have won many battles.

Necrons:

Little is known about the origins of the ancient race known as the Necrons. They were one of the earliest races, appearing only a few million years after the birth of the stars. Their world was scourged by the radiation of the massive, violent star it closely orbited, cursing them to experience drastically short lifespans. The Necrons spent eons expanding their technology in an attempt to extend their lives. Their technology developed Necrodermis, a "living metal", for constructing their ships with which they were able to leave their planet.
Necrons are tall, skeletal figures made of a living metal which provides excellent protection in battle and also has a special self-repair effect, which means even heavily damaged Necrons can quickly return to the battle. Psychologically the Necrons are a shadow of their former selves, it is unknown how much independent thought they are capable of.
